Remove both brushes lifting from the right side of the brushes.
Remove the two screws at the bottom of the robot as shown and open the battery cover.
Flip roomba upside down and inspect the right and left sides of the bumper.
Remove the two yellow endcaps from the bristle brush.
If one side of the bumper is dislodged you will see that it will be pertruding out.
If the sensors are clean and work in other areas of the house then it will be necessary.

After some experimentation i determined that the best place to introduce lubrication was in the top surface of the gearbox roomba upside down approximately midway between the two protruding surfaces.
